So, you probably don't know, but there are a number of "Easter Eggs" inside GTalk that allow you to make little ponies run across the chat window, or change the background color of the window, or make a whole lot of little villagers run across the chat window with pitchforks.  Squirrel, of course, didn't know this, and I had an absolute ball with him yesterday - I was CRYING with laughter.

New House

Well, we finally bought our new house. The transfer should go through in the next two weeks, but we moved in on the 1st February 2015. It is an absolute dump, compared to the previous places we've lived in, but it has SO much potential. We've been working every single weekend on the house, and I'm going to start keeping a progress report here, with before, during and after photos. Here are the "before" photos - please note that they were taken off the property website, so are not our furniture, and are also not necessarily how I would have photographed them.

Damian at school

Well, it seems Damian is loving his new school, thank heavens. We had a feeling he would, and I honestly thought he would thrive under the strict routine there. His message to us on his first day read:

"Had burgers. School was awesome (I already made TEN new friends) and sport was fun. Did some pull-ups, watched some soccer being played, etc. Homework is done, now a bit of free time and then I'm off to school again for night-study"

Then, about 10 seconds later:

"G2g. Time for studies".

LOL. He's having so much fun he doesn't even have time to chat to us. Yesterday's messages were: "I'm good. Made 3 new friends today"

"I'm actually learning stuff! :D"

Then he asked if he can come home in three weeks' time for a long weekend, and said:

"Awesome. I really like this school. Great choice :) anyway gtg. Time for study"

I wonder what he's doing this weekend? I think with some free time he might well feel homesick. I hope they go camping or swimming in the dam or something...
